What Contractors Need to Know about Chimneys and Fireplaces

Marge Padgitt will discuss the most critical items for contractors to know about chimneys and fireplaces including

  • IRC Code requirements
  • Clearances to combustibles
  • Fireplace inserts, prefabricated chimneys & fireplaces, and masonry chimneys

What you need to know before making any changes to a fireplace system could mean the difference between a happy customer and a chimney or house fire. Marge Padgitt is a 30-year veteran chimney and fireplace contractor. She is the past president of the Midwest Chimney Safety Council and served on the board of directors for several national hearth and chimney associations. Marge is the president and CEO of HearthMasters, and has been a KC NARI member for 18 years.
